Summer Internship Practical Training Purpose and Objectives:
Our practical training internship aims to provide students with an opportunity to explore career interests while applying knowledge and skills in a hotel environment. Students will observe and train in different departments and have the opportunity to create professional networks within the industry. With guidance and structure from the course lecturer, students will gain maximum benefit from the practical training and experiential learning.

Methodology:
During the 4-month summer internship students will complete a logbook each week as evidence of experience and skills acquired. During the internship the lecturer will monitor the students progress and follow up with the assigned hotel supervisor. During and at the end of the internship there will be a review and evaluation with the student, the lecturer and hotel supervisor/s involved.
Assessment:
During the 4-month placement students will complete a logbook each week as evidence of experience and skills acquired, with key learning objectives for different hotel departments.
