Why study Hotel Administration in Cyprus?

Whilst tourism has always been an important sector of the economy for many countries, it is the backbone of the Cypriot economy, with its epicentre in the thriving Ammochostos region where AKADEMIA COLLEGE is conveniently and ideally located to deliver the course.

Tourism in Ammochostos region – and the whole of Cyprus generally – has reached meteoric heights in recent years, with projections indicating that this boom will continue with even greater visitor and revenue figures. As such, there has never been a more exciting time to enter the tourism sector, but this expansion and growth of the industry in turn demands a higher calibre of properly educated and highly qualified personnel, which makes the Hotel Administration Diploma more vital than ever for those wishing to enter the industry or further their career.

A Hotel Administration Diploma with AKADEMIA COLLEGE offers a solid and smart investment in the future of tourism – both in Cyprus and abroad – by equipping students with the knowledge and skills to work in this fast-paced and challenging profession to the highest standards. Alongside classroom learning, students have the opportunity to practice the skills they have acquired on the job via our placement schemes and earn some money in the process, as well as invaluable experience to build a solid CV.

Placements vary to include all kinds of hotel establishments; from the modest family-run guest house to the full-blown 5* luxury resort, as well as boutique, city and agrotourism establishments for a complete picture of the island’s hotel industry – and the famous Cypriot hospitality!
And thanks to the prestige of the qualification and our network of industry contacts, graduates are immediately ready to enter employment at the new luxury hotels, resorts, marinas and tourist facilities that the tourism boom is bringing with it.

The Hotel Administration programme aims to develop educated supervisors with the skills needed for immediate employment in mid-level management positions in the hotel industry. In addition, the program aims to prepare students to progress to higher qualifications in hospitality or a related area if they wish so.

Engage the students in experiential learning for applying their hospitality skills and knowledge

Prepare graduates to:

The educational process lasts two years and includes a combination of lectures, group discussions, problem solving case studies, assignments, presentations, role playing and pair and group work.

At the end of the first year of study, students undergo a four month internship at a hotel.
