Refund Policy

1. Introduction
The following Refund Policy sets out the arrangements and calculations relating to tuition fee refunds in the event of a student formally withdrawing from their studies.

2. Refunds – general provisions
2.1 A student wishing to withdraw from their programme of study has to fill in a “Withdrawal Form” obtained from the Student Affairs Office, then submit that completed form to the Academic Director, who will notify the Director of Administration & Finance accordingly. The date of withdrawal will be considered to be the date on which the Withdrawal Form is received. A copy of the submitted Withdrawal Form will be given to the student.

2.2 Where students have been expelled, dismissed or suspended for disciplinary reasons, there will be no refund of tuition fees.

2.3 Students may only be entitled to a refund after paying the total amount of the semester or yearly tuition fees and if they withdraw from study at the college before completion of their programme (see Table below). Refund calculations are based on the submission date of the student’s Withdrawal Form. Refunds can only be processed after the withdrawal is complete.

2.4 Students that have agreed with the college to pay the tuition fees in installments either monthly or otherwise and have paid less than 50% of the total semester fees, the final decision regarding their refund will be made by the Finance Committee at the next scheduled meeting.

2.5 If a student has any college debt (e.g. outstanding library book fines etc.), it will be subtracted from any refund of fees payable.

2.6 All refunds will be calculated and issued in € Euros.

2.7 Refunds will only be made to the person who originally paid the tuition fees.

3. Refunds for College Students
3.1 The college programme fees are charged as follows:

• No fees charged if withdrawal date is before the start of the programme/start of the academic year of their programme of study.

• 20% of fees charged if withdrawal date is during the first teaching week of the semester of their chosen programme of study.

• 30% of fees charged if withdrawal date is during the second teaching week of the semester of their programme of study.

• 50% of fees charged if withdrawal date is during the third teaching week of the semester of their programme of study

• 75% of fees charged if withdrawal date is during the fourth teaching week of the semester of their programme of study

• 100% of fees charged if withdrawal date is after the fourth week of the start of the semester of their programme of study.

Please see Table below for clarification.

4. Refund of Deposits
4.1 The above policy does not apply to the International Student Deposit which is refundable if the Entry Visa to Cyprus is rejected or after completion of the programme of study.

5. Suspension of Study
The refund policy will also apply to eligible students within this policy who formally suspend from study.

5.1 As stated in section 3.1 no fees will be charged if the start date for suspension of study is before the start of the lectures.

5.2 If they suspend after the first week and have paid an amount of the fees, this can be used to secure their place in the following academic semester if returning to study.

6. Payment of Refunds
6.1 As stated in section 2.3 refund calculations are based on the date of submission of the Student Withdrawal Form.

6.2 Refunds are processed after the approval of the Financial Committee meeting.

6.3 As stated in section 2.5 if a student has any college debt it will be subtracted from any refund of fees payable.
