Akademia College’s ‘Hotel Administration’ Course Formally Accredited

It is with greatest pleasure that we announce that Akademia College and its Hotel Administration course have been successfully evaluated and accredited by the Cyprus Agency of Quality Assurance and Accreditation in Higher Education and awarded accreditation starting from the winter semester of the academic year 2019 – 2020.

The Agency operates in accordance to the standards and guidelines provided by the European Network for Quality Assurance (ENQA) and is the hallmark of quality for private educational institutions on the island.

The body’s External Evaluation Committee (EEC) visited Akademia College on October 16, 2019 to examine and evaluate the college’s premises and faculty, meeting with the head of the institution; the head of the relevant department; the programme’s coordinator; members of the academic staff; members of the administrative staff; students and/ or their representatives, and the Internal Quality Assurance Committee of the college.

Based on the report from the on-site visit the Council of the Agency decided to award the 2-year Hotel Administration course accreditation to be delivered in English – a significant milestone for the college and one that further cements our reputation for delivering quality courses that offer real-life skills and job prospects in the hospitality sector.

The course is currently open to applications from prospective students and will start in February 2020. It is an essential course for anyone wanting to forge a career in tourism and provides a strong basis for pursuing further qualifications or career advancement.

 

Akademia College receives Institutional Accreditation

It is with greatest pleasure that we announce that Akademia College is among the island’s first educational institutions to be awarded accreditation for its facilities by the Cyprus Agency of Quality Assurance and Accreditation in Higher Education.

The Agency operates in accordance to the standards and guidelines provided by the European Network for Quality Assurance (ENQA) and is the hallmark of quality for private educational institutions on the island.

The body’s External Evaluation Committee (EEC) visited Akademia College to evaluate the institution on October 16, 2019 and examined the college’s premises and faculty, meeting with the head of the institution; the head of the relevant department; the programme’s coordinator; members of the academic staff; members of the administrative staff; students and/ or their representatives, and the Internal Quality Assurance Committee of the college.

Included in the site visit were the evaluation of the college equipment (library, computer labs, research facilities); the curriculum; the staff; the quality and effectiveness of teaching; the management of the college; the services and support mechanisms offered; research prospects; quality assurance measures; the profile and philosophy of the college, and the synergy between all its components.

Based on the report from the on-site visit the Council of the Agency decided to award the college Institutional Accreditation as from the winter semester of the academic year 2019-2020.

This is an extremely significant milestone for the college and ranks Akademia among a small handful of educational institutions on the island to have received accreditation for their facilities so far.

The confirmation of the calibre of our college facilities further cements our reputation for offering educational excellence and delivering quality courses that offer real-life skills and job prospects in the hospitality sector.

 

Erasmus +

ACC Akademia College in partnership with the Erasmus+/VET Project offers to the Hotel Faculty and Students the opportunity to travel from 26 January – 9 February 2020 in the Netherlands or from 14 – 28 March 2020 (two weeks) to a Spa Hotel in Lithuania. 

Furthermore, we have another mobility programme from 1 June – 20 September 2020 (+- 1 week). The exact dates will be confirmed by the end of December 2019. They depend on flight availability and the ability of the host company to receive the participants on specific dates.

The mobilities will focus on the development of entrepreneurial thinking and application creativity, strategic thinking and business planning/ management tools. The participants will work under supervision and in cooperation of the staff of the hotel.
